Purpose of the job

Defines together with the GM and other MT members the long term strategy for the OpCo. Translates strategy into mid- and short-term sales and marketing tactics for each product/market/country combination and based on the value for the customers, strategic partners and the fair-share for Trouw Nutrition.

Context of the job

The OpCo is one of the operational companies of a Cluster, headed by the General Manager. The members of the Management Team are collectively responsible for realizing the business results. The Strategic Marketing Manager is the linking pin between the General Manager, sales, technical and farm manager directors assuring the balance between executing actions for the short term year results without losing sight to develop and execute activities that benefit the opco mid- and long term.

The Strategic Marketing Manager will drive brand awareness of Trouw Nutrition in the region and is responsible for Strategic Projects to ensure delivery on our must win battles. He or she will also operates closely together with the salesforce to create and strengthen strategic relationships with local organizations, media outlets, distributors and key accounts. Will work closely together with the global organization to ensure awareness, support and buy in of campaigns and activities.

Key accountabilities

  • Strategy: formulates together with the Management Team the strategy of the Opco and aligns this with global strategy. The Strategic Marketing Manager directly works with the salesforce to monitor execution of the strategy, measures KPI’s and use of CRM and Power BI as supporting applications.  All done in close cooperation with the Sales Director and Managers.
  • Specific focus at the digital and media agenda of the Opco.  Based on local initiatives and global concepts, services and applications.
  • Business year planning: sets up, defines budgets and implements year plan(s) for the marketing activities and key projects, based on the OpCo’s strategy, in order to give guidance to all activities of the OpCo.
  • Business Inteligence: monitors, analyses and reports facts and insights on country, industry, and customer needs and trends, in order to provide consumer/customer insight and accurate market information that enables to formulate an effective strategy for the Opco.
  • Marketing communication: ensures the development and realization of marketing events, materials and campaigns for OpCo use, within Trouw Nutrition guidelines, in order to realize a valuable, consistent and powerful program and product positioning.
  • Budget control: controls the budget of the marketing activities in the OpCo, takes corrective actions when necessary, and ensures adequate reporting to ensure that the department delivers its budget and meets KPI objectives.
  • Human resource management: organises, manages, develops and staffs the marketing department in line with the strategy, in order to be equipped for current and future business challenges and contribute to the optimisation of business results.

  • Growing Volume and Sales Profit performance vs Budget
  • Brand recognition of  company name Trouw Nutrition and the key product brands
  • Share of Wallet and customer profitability development for each customer
  • Market share development for different product groups across markets according to strategic plan
  • CRM pipeline development
  • Customer Satisfaction development based on a periodical consistent methodology of measuring (NPS)
  • Costs versus budget of own department

Objetivo de la plaza
  • Planificar y ejecutar junto con Gerencia General y el equipo de mercadeo la estrategia para la operación de la compañía
  • Creación de estrategias tácticas de ventas y mercadeo a corto y mediano plazo para cada producto y país en beneficio de los clientes, socios estratégicos y la empresa.
  • Impulsar el conocimiento de la marca en la región
